Muse Event #2

I went to an alcohol education workshop. I believe it was Alcohol 101. They educated us on alcohol and weren't telling us not to drink, but rather how to do it safely. The first thing that they really hammered us with was drinking and driving. They told us all about DUIs and how they really can screw you over. If you get a DUI you get your license suspended for an entire year and a huge fine. The second thing I learned was alcohol and my liver. Alcohol is terrible for your liver. If you drink to much you can develop Sorosis of the Liver and your liver will shut down. And when that happens you pretty much are dead. What I took away form this was that drinking isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it shouldn't be abused at all. Because when it is abused bad things happen.

Muse Event #1

I attended the Muscle Milk vs Regular Milk workshop. They discussed the differences and pros and cons about both. I found out some very interesting information. This workshop was very informational and interesting.
The thing that I found the most interesting was that Muscle Milk has a lot of fat in it. I found that interesting because Muscle Milk is advertised so widely and advertised as such a good protein. They said that real milk would be more beneficial for you. But I happen to know that Muscle milk has 25 grams of protein per serving, while a glass of regular milk, only has 7 or 8. So when I asked about that they said that if you want to bulk up, or are an avid exerciser then to use muscle milk, but if you are just doing cardio and light weights to use regular milk.
I thought that this workshop was really cool because I exercise avidly and use muscle milk so I liked how I found out all these facts about it. Overall this workshop was really informational and fun to go to.

Interview a Senior

I interviewed a senior in my fraternity. His name is John Silva. He is majoring in Kinesiology with a focus on physical therapy. This is exactly what I am majoring in so that is why I chose him. We discussed how his college life has been and how it has changed from what he planned.
When I asked him how his college experience has been his answer was "interesting." He said that originally he was an accounting major, but changed when he was a sophomore because he realized he couldn't be behind a desk his whole life. When he saw the classes needed to take this major he was frightened at first because it is a lot of science. but he overcame that and really succeeded in my opinion. He had an internship this past summer at a hospital and has a job waiting for him when he graduates this December. In my opinion that is awesome. His starting pay is 75,000 a year and that is just phenomenal in my opinion.
I really look up to John because he is doing exactly what I want to do. And he is having fun with it. His college experience was definitely different from what he expected, but i the end, I believe it all worked out for him pretty well.

Non Muse Event #2

I attended a concert here on campus. Atreyu and Hollywood Undead was playing. There are hard rock. It was a lot of fun because I went with my friends and all we did was mosh the whole time. Moshing is when you get in a big circle and just push people around. It is so much fun with the music blaring. At the end of the concert Atreyu played Doomsday, one of their most popular songs. It was nuts. The whole crowd just erupted and everyone was singing along. It was a blast!!

Non Muse Event #1

I attended the girls basketball game last week. Cal State East Bay was playing against them and my girlfriend plays for them so it was a lot of fun to watch her play our girls team. SJSU won by 20 but my girlfriend did really good. Our team is really good though. We are tall and fast. East Bays team was short and not that fast. But overall it was a really good game and I had a lot of fun.

Talking About Drugs

What are the drugs of choice among my peers today? I'm not going to lie, drug use is very common among my peers. It is a way of us just being kids. Kids have to learn from their mistakes and experience things in order to really succeed in life. There are a lot of temptations and a big variety of the drugs used among my peers. Drug use is very common among kids my age.
The drugs of choice among my peers vary. Number one would have to be alcohol for sure. Me and all of my friends drink. I'm going to be honest. We are in college and we party. Its expected of kids my age. Now this doesn't mean I am an alcoholic, but I do my share of partying and I have fun with it. The next drug of choice I would have to say is pot. Now I don't smoke but my friends do. I've done it a few times but personally I would just rather get drunk than high. From there it goes to coke. Now none of my friends to coke but I know people who do and in my opinion thats just nasty. In my opinion if you have to do any type of baking to get high, that is a drug. Not weed, all that requires is picking a bud and lighting it.
There are definitely temptations to do drugs. It is everywhere. A lot of kids are peer pressured into drinking or using drugs. Your peers are the toughest people to turn down. It is a hard thing to do because all you want to do is be accepted. I started drinking when I was a freshman in high school. Not going to lie, I didn't plan on drinking this early but I did and I was a little peer pressured into it. But I gradually got okay with it.
With being a college student there is drug use and partying. No surprise though. We are all over 18 and its not a big deal. Its going to happen eventually. Alcohol and pot are for sure the most popular of drugs among kids my age. There is peer pressure to drink and do drugs. But in the end, its not as bad as it is made out to be.
