Muse Event #2

I went to an alcohol education workshop. I believe it was Alcohol 101. They educated us on alcohol and weren't telling us not to drink, but rather how to do it safely. The first thing that they really hammered us with was drinking and driving. They told us all about DUIs and how they really can screw you over. If you get a DUI you get your license suspended for an entire year and a huge fine. The second thing I learned was alcohol and my liver. Alcohol is terrible for your liver. If you drink to much you can develop Sorosis of the Liver and your liver will shut down. And when that happens you pretty much are dead. What I took away form this was that drinking isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it shouldn't be abused at all. Because when it is abused bad things happen.

Muse Event #1

I attended the Muscle Milk vs Regular Milk workshop. They discussed the differences and pros and cons about both. I found out some very interesting information. This workshop was very informational and interesting.
The thing that I found the most interesting was that Muscle Milk has a lot of fat in it. I found that interesting because Muscle Milk is advertised so widely and advertised as such a good protein. They said that real milk would be more beneficial for you. But I happen to know that Muscle milk has 25 grams of protein per serving, while a glass of regular milk, only has 7 or 8. So when I asked about that they said that if you want to bulk up, or are an avid exerciser then to use muscle milk, but if you are just doing cardio and light weights to use regular milk.
I thought that this workshop was really cool because I exercise avidly and use muscle milk so I liked how I found out all these facts about it. Overall this workshop was really informational and fun to go to.

Interview a Senior

I interviewed a senior in my fraternity. His name is John Silva. He is majoring in Kinesiology with a focus on physical therapy. This is exactly what I am majoring in so that is why I chose him. We discussed how his college life has been and how it has changed from what he planned.
When I asked him how his college experience has been his answer was "interesting." He said that originally he was an accounting major, but changed when he was a sophomore because he realized he couldn't be behind a desk his whole life. When he saw the classes needed to take this major he was frightened at first because it is a lot of science. but he overcame that and really succeeded in my opinion. He had an internship this past summer at a hospital and has a job waiting for him when he graduates this December. In my opinion that is awesome. His starting pay is 75,000 a year and that is just phenomenal in my opinion.
I really look up to John because he is doing exactly what I want to do. And he is having fun with it. His college experience was definitely different from what he expected, but i the end, I believe it all worked out for him pretty well.

Non Muse Event #2

I attended a concert here on campus. Atreyu and Hollywood Undead was playing. There are hard rock. It was a lot of fun because I went with my friends and all we did was mosh the whole time. Moshing is when you get in a big circle and just push people around. It is so much fun with the music blaring. At the end of the concert Atreyu played Doomsday, one of their most popular songs. It was nuts. The whole crowd just erupted and everyone was singing along. It was a blast!!

Non Muse Event #1

I attended the girls basketball game last week. Cal State East Bay was playing against them and my girlfriend plays for them so it was a lot of fun to watch her play our girls team. SJSU won by 20 but my girlfriend did really good. Our team is really good though. We are tall and fast. East Bays team was short and not that fast. But overall it was a really good game and I had a lot of fun.

Talking About Drugs

What are the drugs of choice among my peers today? I'm not going to lie, drug use is very common among my peers. It is a way of us just being kids. Kids have to learn from their mistakes and experience things in order to really succeed in life. There are a lot of temptations and a big variety of the drugs used among my peers. Drug use is very common among kids my age.
The drugs of choice among my peers vary. Number one would have to be alcohol for sure. Me and all of my friends drink. I'm going to be honest. We are in college and we party. Its expected of kids my age. Now this doesn't mean I am an alcoholic, but I do my share of partying and I have fun with it. The next drug of choice I would have to say is pot. Now I don't smoke but my friends do. I've done it a few times but personally I would just rather get drunk than high. From there it goes to coke. Now none of my friends to coke but I know people who do and in my opinion thats just nasty. In my opinion if you have to do any type of baking to get high, that is a drug. Not weed, all that requires is picking a bud and lighting it.
There are definitely temptations to do drugs. It is everywhere. A lot of kids are peer pressured into drinking or using drugs. Your peers are the toughest people to turn down. It is a hard thing to do because all you want to do is be accepted. I started drinking when I was a freshman in high school. Not going to lie, I didn't plan on drinking this early but I did and I was a little peer pressured into it. But I gradually got okay with it.
With being a college student there is drug use and partying. No surprise though. We are all over 18 and its not a big deal. Its going to happen eventually. Alcohol and pot are for sure the most popular of drugs among kids my age. There is peer pressure to drink and do drugs. But in the end, its not as bad as it is made out to be.

Study Tip #3

My third study tip is to not get distracted. I have ADD and I get distracted very easily. So when I have to study or do homework I go to my room and zone in on my work. I listen to music without words because the words distract me but the music cancells out all the outside noise.

Study Tip #2

My second study tip is to make a to do list. What I mean by this is write down all the homework you have and cross it off one by one as you finish the assignments. This can also work for a lot of other things. If you have a busy life it works great. In highschool I would have school, then track practice, then homework, and after that the gym. I would just write everything down and check it off when i finished something.

Bucket List

There are many things that i would like to put on my bucket list. I really like the idea of a bucket list because it gives me the opportunity to plan out my goals for the rest of the year. First off I would like to pass my remedial English class. That is at the top of my priority list because if I do not pass that class I can not attend San Jose State University next semester. My second goal is to have my major declared at the end of the semester. I want to major in Kinesiology and get my masters at Cal State East Bay in Kinesiology and become a physical therapist. Another goal is while I am getting a masters to either get a job as a physical therapist or be a physical trainer then become a physical therapist. I want to do this because I can not be behind a desk for the rest of my life. I need to be doing something active and with a lot of human interaction. After I kind of get my career off and running I would like to hopefully get married and start a family. I really want to do this because I am excited to have kids and buy a house and build it up and make it nice. It just seems like a lot of fun to me. I would also like to pick up the guitar again. I played it a lot in middle school and high school but I kind of slowly stopped playing my junior and senior year. I would really like to start playing again. So this is my bucket list. I really hope everything plays out the way I envision it to.

music Review

I reviewed Baba O'Riley by the Who. It was written by Pete Townshend. He originally wrote it for his Lifehouse project. This was a rock opera to be a follow-up to their 1969 opera, Tommy. Insteada it was realeased with the 1971 album Whos Next. It was released as a single in many European countries but in the United States only on the album. The drummer Keith Moon had the idea of inserting a violin to the song. A great addition i believe. When the song is performed live the lead singer Roger Daltrey plays the violin part on a harmonica.
I chose this song because the lyrics really speak to me. It is about having to fight for what you want and not having everything just handed to you. It implies that you have to fight to survive. When I first heard the song, I didnt even pay attention to the words. I was so engaged in the intro. That intro is ridiculous. It really is just amazing. But when I actually listened to the words was when I really just fell in love with the song. Its meaning is amazing.

essay

When kids graduate from high school they are used to a very simple way things are run. Especially sexually. In high school there really isn't that much pressure to have sex. Kids are more in a safe environment. When those kids take those steps into adulthood and go to college, that safe environment changes. People are pressured to perform sexually. I have some advice for those younger freshman that aren't ready to take that next step.
The first piece of advice i have i have to offer is to be affirmative wit your decision. If you don't feel like you are ready to have sex then you should not have sex. Simple as that. If you feel like you are being pressured to have sex, simply say no and get out of that situation. If you are not the mean type i recommend changing the subject or if you are in the situation make an excuse to leave. Staying strong to your choice will really help you out.
My next and final piece of advice is to really get a good back round check on the person you are about to get with. If this person really means a lot to you, enough to take that step then you should know some things about them. One way to do this is to ask around. Ask their friends or anyone that knows them. Just kind of as who they are as a person. Another way is to Google the person. Now I have never Googled someone but I have heard good results from doing so. Another way to get to know the person is to just hangout with them. Get to know them, that is really the only way you are going to be able to get a good feeling about someone.
With this advice I hope that whoever is reading it finds it helpful. It really is hard to stick to your guns about certain things. Especially sex. But with the right attitude and confidence it really can go a long way.

google myself

When I googled myself I found a lot of stuff on track and cross country. I ran track and cross country in high school so I just found a lot of articles about the invitationals my team went to and stuff like that. I also found a lot of stuff on cowboy hats. My last name is Stetson and that is also the name of a really high end cowboy hat brand. So I was kind of all over the place.

music progression

When i was younger i listened to NSYNC and Backstreet Boys. I listened to them because all my friends listened to them and i was kind of limited to what i could listen to.

When i was middle aged, like middle school, i listened to a lot of punk. A lot of Blink 182, Sum 41, and Taking Back Sunday. I listened to them because i really enjoyed the music that they put forth.

Now i listen to kind of everything. I used to not like rap but now i find myself listening to it from time to time. I still blast Blink 182. They are my favorite band of all time so i will continue to do so forever. But now im not limited to what i can listen to so i very a lot.

study tip

1 study tip that i find to be really helpful is when you get stressed out take a little break and work out. i have found that with working out and getting your blood moving it takes your mind off of things which makes you be able to study better when you return. this tip also works great when you are angry.
